Softening the Water in the Soap Tank |
配制方法: |
Many laundries, operating with water containing a moderate amount of hardwater ingredients, for example, 3 gr. per gal., and having no water-softening system, have found it advantageous to add complex phosphates to the soap tank for combating hardness. Some laundries, operating with the aid of water-softening systems, recognizing that these systems do not remove the last traces of hardness and little, if any, of the iron and that the soil in clothes often contains hard-water ingredients, have added smaller quantities of the complex phosphates to stock soap tanks to take care of the smaller quantities of hardness present in the wash wheels. Such laundries find that sodium "Tetrine", used in place of complex phosphates, produces substantially better results. conditions vary so greatly from plant to plant that a specific recommendation is almost impossible to make under an unknown set of conditions. However, the working range for 3-gr. water is 3 to 20 lb. of sodium "Tetrine" per 100 lb. of soap. |
