Run for 15-20 min at 190'F.
The soda ash does a much better job of removing lubricants and oils than does tetrasodium pyrophosphate owing to its higher alkalinity.
Temperatures of 180-190'F should be employed since most waxes and lubricants normally used in knitting polyester/cotton blend fabrics have an emulsion and/or melting point of 160'F and temperatures below that level do not always insure complete removal of these products. If temperatures of less than 190'F can be employed satisfactorily, this is all the better. |
