For production, sprayed sodium stearate purissima is used. If there is water in the batch, the soda soap is moistened with it beforehand, as the soap dissolves better and more rapidly in alcohol if swollen. For small batches the soap is dissolved along with the other components in a water bath, using a reflux condenser. When everything is dissolved, the batch is left to cool somewhat, after which the perfume is mixed in and the mixture at once filled into the shells used for packaging in so far as they are suitable for direct filling. The faster the mass congeals after pouring, the more homogeneous it looks. For this reason it is best to pour at as low a temperature as possible, since the mass hardens amorphously when so manipulated. These sticks can also be prepared with the formation of soda soap taking place during the manufacturing process itself. |
