Chelation of Iron, Nickel, Copper, and Other Heavy Metals |

Sodium "Tetrine" chelates all heavy metals normaly encountered in laundering. It also chelates iron, nickel, copper, and other heavy metals, when present, preferentialy to calcium and magnesium. This is especially important for preventing the formation of iron, copper, and nickel soaps. Copper and nickel compounds are often present in minute quantities on the surface of "Monel" metal wash wheels due to the action of sodium hypochlorite and the sour on the metal.
Iron, copper, and nickel soaps, when permitted to form, gradually build up a grayish deposit of metallic soap on the goods. Sodium "Tetrine" prevents this build-up. Thus, goods washed continuously with the aid of sodium "Tetrine" in the soap remain sparkling white and bright as compared with clothes washed in the conventional manner. |
