Improvement in Wire Drawing |
配制方法: |
Aluminum and copper wire are largely drawn by the wet-drawing process, using soap solutions. As the drawing proceeds, copper or aluminum from the wire combines with the soap to form insoluble metallic soaps. These separate and cause difficulty in the drawing process and in the recycling of the soap solution. The difficulty can be overcome by adding sodium "Tetrine" liquid to the soap solution.* The amount to use will vary depending on the equipment and method of operation. If an accurate determination of the total amount of copper or aluminum, which the soap solution will contain before it is discarded, can be made, the amount of sodium "Tetrine" liquid to be used can be calculated. As a start, use 5% sodium "Tetrine" based on the weight of the dry soap in the solution. This amount will give definite protection against precipitation of the metal soaps under most conditions. Larger amounts, up to 10%, may be needed under more severe conditions. *The metal ions will be chelated by sodium "Tetrine |
