Bleaching Woolen Yarns, Fabrics, and Finished Articles |
配方组成: |
Although the exact composition of the wool-bleaching bath will vary depending on the condition and nature of the material to be bleached, the results desired, and the equipment available, the following may be regarded as a typical treatment for bleaching yarn, piece goods, or knitted articles Temperature/100-120'F. Hydrogen Peroxide/0.30-0.75% solution or 1.0-2.5 volumes Time/1-12 hours pH/9.5 maximum |
配制方法: |
When bleaching in rotating wheels, peroxide concentrations are usually increased to shorten the time. Sodium silicate or sodium pyrophosphate is preferred as a source of alkali for the bleach bath since these agents also confer improved bleaching effectiveness. For 100 gal. of bleach solution, 3 lb. of 42'Be. waterwhite, iron-free sodium silicate should give approximately the correct pH value. Ammonia water, sodium tetraphosphate, borax, or other mild alkalies may be used. All alkali used should be substantially free of other metals. Temperature and alkalinity are factors which must be carefully controlled to avoid injury to the wool and it is desirable to set up testing procedures to insure that these values do not go above safe limits. Standard pH equipment or pH papers should be satisfactory for pH measurement. |
