Both coast can be applied using a knife coater, a rod, or a size press. The first coat should be dried thoroughly before the second coat is applied. The temperature employed in the laboratory was approximately 250'F. A total coating weight of 5 lb per 1000 ft^2 has provided satisfactory greaseproofness. The second coat of "Hycar" 1577 will not rewet the first coat and adhere to it unless the titanium dioxide dispersion is included in the second coat formulation. |
