This formula produces a polish of 14% solids Melt the solid components including oleic acid and bring to a temperature of 235/240'F. Add the zinc octoate and DEEA. Cook for 5 minutes. In the meantime heat 224 parts of water to 205'F. This produces a 30% solids emulsion. When the wax melt is ready, add the NH4OH to the hot water and then introduce the wax melt with rapid agitation.
After the 30% concentrate has been prepared, it should be chilled rapidly by adding it, with rapid stirring, to 398 parts of cold water to yield an emulsion of 14% solids. At no time should the temperature of the concentrate be allowed to drift below 150'F. and the temperature of the diluted emulsion should be below 130'F. after all the concentrate has been added.
When the final emulsion has cooled to room temperature, add the FC-128 and then carefully stir in the "KP"-140. For good levelling the KP-140 must be completely dissolved. |
