Reparing Streaky or Unlevel Dyeings |

This leveling procedure can often correct unlevel dyeings without the need for stripping and subsequent redyeing.
Set bath at 120'F with 0.5% owg "Tanaterge" D-6, 3% owg "Migrassist" AC/3% owg "Tanapal" CAL (or 6% "Migrassist" AC) and 20% Glauber's salt.
Add acetic acid to pH 4.0. Heat to the boil and hold for 2 hours. Where pressure equipment is available, more rapid and more complete leveling may be obtained at 225'F. If dye additions are required, they should be made at 170'F. Circulate 10 minutes, then return to top temperature at 2'F per minute. Run 30 minutes at top temperature after each dye add.
When on shade, cool to 150'F at 3'F per minute. Give running warm water rinse until the bath is clear, then offload. |
