Completely dissolve "Exon" 470 in a solvent mixture consisting of Isophorone, DIBK and "Solvesso" 150 under high shear agitation. The solution should be free of gel particles. When this is complete, add the Mineral Spirits-this will thin out the solution resin. The Mineral Spirits should not be added initially as this will cause a prolonged mixing to affect solution of the "Exon" 470.
The remaining ingredients are thoroughly mixed with the Exon 654. It will be necessary to add a quantity of the dissolved Exon 470 prior to Hobart mixing in order to produce a doughlike paste. The remaining "Exon" 470 solution is then slowly added to the mix and will accordingly thin it out.
Do not attempt to add the "Exon" 470 powder with the "Exon" 654 to the plastisol portion of the formulation, as this causes immediate gelation.
Fuse the above for 23 min. at 125-180'C on degreased "Bonderized" steel. |
