Castor Wax Emulsion |
配方组成: |
Stearic Acid/2.14 Water/85.56 Triethanolamine/1.07 "Castorwax"/10.70 Melt the "Castorwax" and stearic acid together and bring to a temperature of about 212'F. At the same time add the triethanolamine and "Triton" X-100 to about one third of the total water and bring to ist boiling point. Add the melted "Castorwax"-stearic acid mix slow to the TEA/water solution with rapid agitation. While the temperature is still above 200'F, run the emulsion through a colloid mill several times to insure a small particle size. The remaining water at about 200'F can then be added to the emulsion in the colloid mill. Slowly cool the mixture to room temperature with continued agitation. Formula No. "Castorwax"/21.0 "Triton" X-100/1.1 "Aerosol" C-61/2.6 "Triton" X-100/.53 Water/75.3 |

Add "Triton" X-100 to one third of the water and heat to 212'F. Add Aerosol C-61 to "Castorwax" and heat to 212'F. When the "Castorwax"/"Aerosol" C-61 mix begins to foam or boil, remove from the heat and add slowly to the water with very rapid agitation. The temperature of the water must be maintained above 200'F during the addition of the "Castorwax" so that the temperature, after all the "Castorwax" has been added, remains above 200'F. Continue stirring, allowing the temperature to fall slowly to approximately 170'F. When the temperature has fallen to 170'F the remaining twothirds of the water can be worked in slowly, with moderate agitation. Emulsions of castorwax containing cationic emulsifiers tend to thicken as they cool after all the water has been added. Homogenize or violently agitate the batch after it is thoroughly cooled, to produce the final low viscosity emulsion. |
