For a brilliant white use 10 lb of rutile titanium per 100 gal formulation. For an aluminum color use 20 lb of Alcoa's 231 aluminum paste or equivalent and 10 lb of Alcoa S-242 desiccant or equivalent per 100 gal formulation. Aluminum should not be used in the No. 2 formula since the water in this formulation will cause gassing. Formula No. 1 has been compounded to give excellent ease of gunning and yet have good non-slump under normal conditions. However, this material may be considered too firm when used in winter weather or cold climates and conversely too soft and not sufficiently slump resistant in very hot summer days or in tropical climates, The formulation can be adjusted for these conditions by removing some of the International Fiber and replacing it with an equal weight of ATOMITE for softer compounds and reversing this procedure for firmer, more slump resistant compounds. The No.2 formula will become very stiff at temperatures below the freezing point of water due to the freezing of the |
