配方组成: |
Fluorescent pigments are compatible with most vehicles, with a few exceptions. For example, the restriction as to solvents must be considered when formulating lacquers and moisture set inks. they can be used in emulsion systems when the pH does not exceed 8.0-8.5. Vehicles containing large amounts of drying oils will decrease the fluorescence. Some of the recommended vehicles are Ethylcellulose Lawter's #1561 and #1564 Quickset Vehicles Lawter's #1517 Moisture-set Vehicle Lawter's Super-Gel Vehicles Lawter's X-40 Series Alkyds Short oil alkyds Acrylics chlorinated rubber Lawter's AP Vehicles |

Optimum amounts of fluorescent for each formulation can be determined by experimentation. Typical paints and lacquers may contain 1.5 to 2 parts of pigment to 1 part of vehicle solids by weight, plus the necessary extender pigments to produce the desired effect. high vehicle solids formulations, such as lithographic inks will have a lower pigment to vehicle solids ratio. Small amounts of transparent extenders such as silica gel, talc, calcium carbonate, etc., may be used with HI-VIZ pigments. These extenders impart light diffusing and surface matting properties to the coating. This reduces the drytime and increases the brilliance of the coating when it is viewed from an oblique angle. Opaque white pigments such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide should not be used with HI-VIZ pigments as they will greatly reduce color strength and fluorescence. Of course, small amounts may be used if a special tint is desired and the loss in fluorescence is not important. Care should be used in mixing HI-VIZ |
