Directions for Use STEWS (beef or lamb): Brown meat in hot fat. Add about 0.5 of package of powder, cover meat with water, and cook until done. Add vegetables and cook until they are soft. The other half of the powder should be added just before serving the stew. CHICKEN FRICASSEE OR BRAISED CHOPS (pork, veal, or shoulder lamb chops): Place 1 package of powder in a paper bag. Add chops or chicken parts and shake bag so the meat is well coated. Brown in hot fat. After all pieces are browned, add 0.25 cup cold water, cover and cook for about 15 minutes. Sprinkle powder remaining in bag over the meat and continue cooking with sionally. Serve rich brown sauce over meat, rice, or potatoes. CHOWDERS: Cover fish with water, add 0.5 package of powder and cook until fish is done. Add potatoes and desired vegetables and cook until they are soft. Add milk, butter, and serve. GRAVY: Add 1 package of powder to 1 cup cold water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Continued boiling thickens gravy. A tablespo |
