Tarnish-Free Copper |
配制方法: |
To preserve polished copper surfaces, and maintain a tarnish-free surface during outdoor exposure, a new finish known as "Incralac" has been developed. The surface to be coated, must be absolutely clean, dry, smooth, dressed with pumice to a satin finish, and cleaned of residues before the coating is applied. Although new metal surfaces are easily prepared, refinishing involves the preliminary removal of all stains, corrosion, and residual organic finishes. The "Incralac" coating is basically an inhibited acrylic lacquer. The typical formulation is: "Acryloid B 44" (40% Solids)/744.0 Toluene/211.3 Butyl Acetate/40.0 Benzotriazole/4.4 Leveling Agent*/0.3 *"UcarR-12" or Epoxidized Soya Bean Oil. This recipe gives a lacquer of 30% solids. Thin this with toluene to 20% solids for brushing, or 11-13% for spraying. The thickness of dry film required for results is 1.0 mil minimum. After the final coat is applied, allow one hour to dry before touching, and 48 hours drying for final hardness. |
