Dissolve "Tamol" 731 in the water. Add pigments and "Rhoplex" AC-33.
The "Rhoplex" AC-33 may be added before or after pigments as desired.
Optimum pH for dispersions is 8.5 to 9.0.
The "R" formulation is suggested for coatings that may be applied from the size press or the calender stack. The formulation has been recirculated for six hours in a centrifugal pump with no breaking, coagulation, or separation.
This formulation has been run in a machine trial at high speed; it showed good hiding power, with significant increase in brightness. The coated paper was successfully calendered and showed good stiffness.
there was no raggy appearance to the coated sheet. Smoothness of the coating (Bekk) was considered good. A successful short run in an offset printing process was carried out. the results of the printing trial were considered equivalent to those achievable with first quality, conventionally coated printing stock.
