"Igepal" CO-630/5.00 "Polectron" 430/0.10-0.20 The viscosity can be altered by varying the ratio of pine oil to "Esso" #5. For example, by changing the concentration of pine oil from 10% to 7.5% or 5%, with a corresponding increase in the content of "Esso" #5 (i.e., 27.5% or 30%), the viscosity of the final product will be increased. The viscosity can be controlled further by the addition of a small amount of salt, such as sodium chloride or sodium phosphate. The following method of blending gives the best looking product: Blend the "Esso" #5 solvent and pine oil together; with stirring, add the tall oil and the "Igepal": then add other ingredients, with continued stirring. dissolve TSP in cold water, then add KOH. While agitating, add "Pamak" #1 slowly. the solution will be quite viscous---almost a gel. Stir until all soap lumps are dissolved. Add "Neutronyx" 600 and "Super-Amide" GR. Add "Varsol" #1 slowly and stir until homogeneous. Then add pine oil. While adding pine oil, the material will thicken at first, then become a clear yellow liquid. |
