Inorganic Finish for "Orlon" Garments to Reduce Pilling |

Formula No.1 Set a cold bath and adjust to pH 4-5 with acetic acid. Add 0.5 g/gal barium chloride to complete precipitation of sulfates. Weigh out 0.1-0.5% alumina based on weight of goods. Disperse with conditioned water, and add to the washer. Bring the bath to 130'F and run it for 15 minutes. Drop the bath and finish with 1-2% (on weight of goods) cationic softener at 120'F for 20 minutes. Extract by centrifuging.
Tumble dry at 160'F run cooling to 100'F.
Formula No.2 (U.S. Patent 2,938,811) Pass fabric through diethylene glycol at 360-365'F for 10 seconds; wash and dye. |
