Merely mull the ingredients together carefully. (Make certain the waxy amine is completely dispersed.) The resulting blend can be added to water, isopropanol, methanol, or blends of water, methanol, and isopropanol at concentrations up to 50% total solids. The resulting core wash exhibits good bonding properties and does not settle. The viscosity of the core wash is dependent on the solvent used but can be adjusted as desired by altering the amount of "Carbopol" 934 resin and amine.
The wash can be sprayed, brushed, or dipped as desired. Thicker suspensions give thicker coats. Excellent coatings were obtained on baked cores in this fashion with drying and with alcohol systems when ignited. |
