Mix the oleic acid, coconut oil fatty acids, and isopropanol. Add the amines and NPX and stir until thoroughly mixed. Add the water, which will produce a clear liquid. this formula is based on a combining weight of 210 for coconut oil fatty acids and 282 for oleic acid. The proportions should be changed according to the combining weight of the particular fatty acids used. The triethanolamine may be replaced by using an additional 6.3 lb. of monoethanolamine to increase the detergent properties of the shampoo.
Dry shampoos based on NPX have excellent detergent properties and are easy to use. A very active dry powder cleaning agent can be made by dispersing a perchlorethylene-naphtha solution of the following concentrate on an inert carrier such as wood flour: |
