Improved Washing of Milk Bottles |

The washing of milk bottles requires not only cleansing the bottles but also the removal of calcium milk stone and iron soaps. The washing equipment also tends to build up calcium (milk soap) deposits which must be removed or, better, prevented. The use of sodium "Tetrine" liquid in washing compositions avoids these difficulties. Generally a five-tank washing system is used. The first three tanks contain the cleaning solutions, and the fourth and fifth tanks are the rinsing baths. In the first tank, the water is renewed constantly. It is, Therefore, necessary to meter sodium "Tetrine" liquid at a constant rate to keep the concentration at the required level. The second and third tanks are frequently used for about 2 days without change of water.
